In the first three months of 2026, Opel recorded a very significant global growth, along with its British twin brand Vauxhall. From January to March, the company sold over 157,000 cars and light commercial vehicles, registering a total increase close to 8% compared to the same period of the previous year. A trend that confirms how the relaunch strategy and the expansion of the range are bringing concrete results in multiple markets and in different product categories.

Opel grows in the first three months of the year
Among the main drivers of growth are the new SUVs from the German brand, namely Mokka, Frontera, and Grandland, launched in 2025. The trio achieved double-digit performance compared to the first quarter of 2025, further strengthening Opel’s position in the B-SUV and crossover segment. Particularly notable is the success of Frontera also in the electric version: in the United Kingdom, it ranks as the best-selling fully electric B-SUV in the first quarter of the year, while in Spain it reaches fourth place and in the Netherlands fifth.

The SUV range stands out
At the same time, demand remains high and is increasing for the Corsa, the small car that has been the best-selling in Germany for over five years. The bestseller’s sales grew by 25% in its home country in March, confirming it as the number one in the segment in Opel’s home market also in the first quarter. The positive trend is also reflected in other countries: in the United Kingdom, the Corsa maintains the lead, while in the Netherlands it is second and in Portugal, Belgium, and Turkey it ranks third. Completing the picture, the start of production of the new Astra at the main plant in Rüsselsheim should be noted.
