BYD is ready to unveil the new DOLPHIN G DM-i, the first car developed specifically for the European market. The model is designed to best interpret the B segment: with 4.16 meters in length and 1.825 meters in width, it aims to offer an ideal balance between external compactness and daily comfort. A car therefore designed to move easily in the city, without giving up the space usually sought in this segment.

The new BYD DOLPHIN G DM-i
One of the declared strengths is the habitability: thanks to a wheelbase of 2.61 meters, the car promises a level of spaciousness at the top of the category. The rear area benefits especially, with concrete advantages for legs, feet, shoulders, and head, recalling according to the indications provided by the same Chinese tech company the same dimensional logic that has historically favored the success of European models in the C segment. Completing the picture is the trunk, also among the largest in the B segment: it is about 425 liters with seats in position and up to 1,225 liters with seats folded down, for flexible travel and uses.
Attacking the B segment
On the efficiency front, the DOLPHIN G DM-i aims to rewrite the rules with Super Hybrid technology: up to 71 km with 1 liter on a full battery and up to 23 km with 1 liter on an empty battery. Furthermore, the goal is to guarantee extended daily use in electric mode: with a full charge and full fuel, the overall range exceeds 1,000 km. The DM-i system favors electric traction to offer a smooth and silent drive thanks to the electric motor on the front axle, intelligently managing the interaction between electric and thermal motors on longer trips. Availability is expected from the end of June in Italian and European showrooms, while trims, technical specifications, and prices will be announced later.
