A Ferrari Waiting
If the most successful team in the history of Formula 1 stops winning, it is natural to count the period since the last success. And so Ferrari has been waiting for a drivers’ world title for 19 years (with Kimi Raikkonen), and a constructors’ world title for 18 years.
But it is also waiting for a simple win in a GP for 19 months, and on the Sunday of Monte Carlo it will be 588 days without a Red car crossing the finish line first in Formula 1.
And if at the start of this season the Ferrari SF-26 can have a chance of success, well, the race circled in red on the calendar is precisely the next one, that of Monaco – as mentioned by the drivers themselves last weekend in Canada.
Raikkonen Has Confidence
In the interview given to Quotidiano Sportivo, Kimi Raikkonen – the last world champion at the wheel of the Red car – briefly mentioned Ferrari as well: “When I left the team at the end of 2018, I wished the team to quickly find my successor in the championship’s roll of honor. It hasn’t happened yet, but from afar I see encouraging signs”.

Raikkonen also mentioned Max Verstappen: “For me, he is the strongest. I saw him arrive in F1 during my second period at Ferrari. Max is a phenomenon. He won his first race in Spain right in front of me 10 years ago. That’s when I realized a star was born,” explained the 2007 world champion.
And little by little, little Robin, Kimi’s son born in 2015, is also coming up in karting: “He is a child and it’s nice that he enjoys himself. Time will tell if the passion can turn into a career. I certainly don’t put pressure on him”.
