During this year Opel will once again expand what it defines as “the electrifying pleasure of sporty driving for everyone” with the new Corsa GSE. It is the most powerful production Corsa of all time, and it will be launched this year celebrating its first appearance at the Paris Motor Show in October. But the Blitz brand has already lifted the veil by publishing the first official photos of its new electric hot hatch.

The new Opel Corsa GSE
The specifications of the new model have already been announced. The fully electric powertrain delivers 207 kW (281 hp) and 345 Nm, effectively the same electric power as the current Mokka GSE. At the same time, however, the new Corsa GSE becomes even more dynamic: it boasts an acceleration of 5.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, pushing its driver against the GSE sports seat with more force than any other model currently produced by the German brand. It also reaches a top speed of 180 km/h.
The most powerful of all time
Three driving modes are available. In “Sport”, the car is set for pure performance and reaches maximum power thanks to its special track-optimized calibration. In “Normal” it delivers 170 kW (231 hp) and the calibration is sporty, with the same top speed of 180 km/h. Finally, in “Eco” all settings are adjusted for maximum possible efficiency, in this case the top speed is 150 km/h. The lithium-ion battery is 54 kWh, but its usable capacity is 51 kWh.

Sporty overview
The new Corsa GSE features front-wheel drive with a Torsen multi-plate limited-slip differential and a lowered sporty chassis with specially designed axles, stabilizers, and hydraulic shock absorbers. The steering and pedal response are optimized for the GSE, while the high-performance four-piston brakes ensure immediate deceleration from high speeds. Completing the picture are 18″ wheels, sports seats, yellow seat belts, and digital displays with performance data.
