In the interview with Dazn Spain, Marc Marquez did not hide the thoughts he had before deciding to show up at Mugello: “I had doubts about whether to come or not because it is a circuit that, if you don’t feel at your best, is very difficult. Even when feeling good it’s tough, imagine after surgery.”
The fifth place in the Sprint and seventh in the GP was definitely a good result: “I am happy with how the weekend went. The decision to return to Mugello was courageous, but the test was passed with flying colors.”

Marquez gave his all
There was a beautiful battle with Pedro Acosta for the temporary fourth place, but in the end Marquez had to surrender to physical difficulties: “I showed flashes of speed and in the race I decided to give my all and slow down little by little. You always have to fight hard and it is my quality to fight until the end, even when everything is against me.”
Later asked by Dani Pedrosa about the pleasure of being back on a MotoGP bike, Marquez was brief: “No, I didn’t have fun. Right now it’s hard and pure work. But I know I have to go through this process to be able to have fun in the future. I was super focused, because a crash here is costly and it’s the last thing I would have wanted to do.”
Marquez then concluded: “As a starting point for my rehabilitation on the bike, it didn’t go badly. Now ice, ice and more ice for the next two days, to recover as best as possible and push the arm to the limit again in Hungary, to keep improving.”
With the 14 total points collected at Mugello, Marquez is eighth in the world championship at -102 from Marco Bezzecchi.
