No second thoughts, Hyundai goes straight ahead. The Korean giant has confirmed its target for the end of the decade of 5.55 million vehicles sold globally, equal to a global market share of 6%. Electric and hybrid will be fundamental parts of the company’s growth strategy: specifically, Hyundai estimates that electrified vehicles will reach 60% of the sales mix by 2030, up from the 23% forecast for 2025. Speaking of electric: internally produced battery cells will offer more than double the power compared to previous high-nickel cells, with 40% faster charging.

Hyundai focuses on new models
These are just some of the elements that emerged during the Hyundai CEO Investor Day, the event where the company outlined a growth strategy focused on profitability. Profitability achievable also thanks to the new product offensive. In this regard, the Korean company plans over 100 product launches globally (of which 49 in the home country Korea) and updates by 2030, with more than 18 new models in new segments and markets. In just the next eight months, narrowing the field, seven new models are arriving. Among the technologies the company will focus on are Extended Range Electric Vehicles, the so-called EREV: the first vehicles of this type will hit the road starting from the first half of 2027, aiming to exceed 965 km of range.
Electrification in the spotlight
At the production level, the roadmap put in black and white by Hyundai foresees an increase in assembly activities in the USA with the SANTA FE EREV, which will be built at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama plant. North America will increase its model production operations by 500,000 units, with localization of final components exceeding 80%. The global production capacity, the company estimates, will increase by 1.27 million units by 2030. As for the high-performance N range, according to Hyundai it will reach 100,000 annual sales by 2030, accompanied by a new range of high-volume high-performance models.

Autonomous driving in the spotlight
Autonomous driving will also be a major protagonist. The robotaxi offering will grow with Waymo deliveries starting from the fourth quarter of 2026, while robot production in the USA will begin in 2028 with an annual capacity of 30,000 units. Going into more detail, the company announced that Atria AI will start collecting real-world data in Korea this year: level 2+ will arrive on the first SDV mass-produced by the company in 2028, in collaboration with NVIDIA, while a 100-megawatt artificial intelligence data center with over 50,000 GPUs will become operational starting in 2029.
