Porsche Taycan has its days numbered and will be withdrawn from the market by 2030. At least, this is what emerged in recent days. But maybe things are not exactly like that. Certainly not according to Porsche, which on one hand denied this hypothesis, but on the other did not confirm that the Taycan will continue to be produced in the future. And consequently whether this could also include a second generation of the model.

Porsche clarifies the future of the Taycan
Carscoops cites an article from the German magazine WirtschaftsWoche, according to which the executives of the Stuttgart-based company had recently agreed to gradually withdraw the Taycan by 2030. Not only that: at first, there was even talk of an immediate removal of the model from the range. A decision that would have been the result of what is seen on the market: Taycan sales have indeed collapsed from a peak of 40,629 units in 2023 to only 16,339 in 2025. For this reason, its production discontinuation might seem like a wise move nowadays.
No immediate withdrawal, but…
But obviously it will not be like that. Porsche itself has clarified that simplifying the model range does not necessarily mean stopping the production of entire lines. As for the Taycan, the company explained that “we will continue to reduce the number of variants to simplify its management.” A spokesperson for the German brand added that at the moment the company has no intention of stopping Taycan production in the short term. “We have invested significantly in the model and will continue to monitor the evolution of demand,” he commented.
