F1 Miami, Qualifying Report
Kimi Antonelli does not want to stop dreaming, and making others dream. With a champion’s lap, after which he may have looked up to the sky to greet Alex Zanardi (also from Bologna like him), Kimi secures his third consecutive pole position in Miami, redeeming himself after a mediocre Sprint. The 2006-born (1:27.798) goes all out in the first time attack, and does very well, considering that in the last minutes of Q3 the track seems to fade. In the second attempt at pole, a mistake in the first sector condemns him to hope: fortunately for him, none of the big names improve, except Max Verstappen, the only one along with the Bolognese to break the 1:28 barrier.

Third position for Charles Leclerc, who shaves a tenth off yesterday’s time, and if Antonelli stumbles on another uncertain start, he can look forward to very interesting positions. Lando Norris will also be sly, in second row alongside the Monegasque, while George Russell will have to come back from fifth position: so far a negative weekend for the Brit, still four tenths behind Antonelli, against whom he also lost the on-track duel in the Sprint. Sixth position for Lewis Hamilton, constantly behind Leclerc here in Miami; bad for Oscar Piastri, seventh after a solid second position in the Sprint.
If the first four cars are once again clear, the fifth force is clearly Alpine: after the double qualification to SQ3 yesterday, the A526s repeat, with Franco Colapinto managing to precede the Red Bull of Isack Hadjar. At the back, further technical problems for Audi are noted, with Gabriel Bortoleto barely making it through Q1, being the slowest on track and stopping due to brake failure.
