Third pole in a row for the Italian driver
Andrea Kimi Antonelli like Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher: the Italian driver secured his third consecutive pole position in Miami ahead of a revived Max Verstappen and the usual Charles Leclerc.

For Antonelli the time set at the end of the first run was enough, in the second he locked up already in Turn 1, but the Mercedes driver did not have to regret this mistake made.

“I’m happy, anyway it has been a complicated weekend so far, we struggled a bit more with the balance and the other teams brought substantial updates – Antonelli said to Sky – it wasn’t easy, but the first lap in Q3 was very good, I had a bit of margin, but on the second attempt I immediately made a disaster. I wasn’t calm with the time from the first run, the gap was significant, but never say never with Verstappen and Leclerc on a track where it’s easy to find a lot of time from one lap to another. I dedicate this pole to Zanardi, he was a friend of ours, I send my condolences to the family.”
