What a comeback for the reigning 499P champion
The crew of the Ferrari 499P #51 composed of Antonio Giovinazzi, James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi achieved second place for the second time at the end of a WEC 2026 event.

In the 6 Hours of Brazil at the Interlagos circuit, the Ferrari #51 was the protagonist of a super comeback that brought the Maranello hypercar even to the brink of victory.
Thanks to the 18 points from second place and also because the leaders of the Drivers’ standings did not have a brilliant Sunday, the ranking has tightened and now Giovinazzi, Calado and Pier Guidi are at -22 points from defending the throne.
“We achieved a great result – said James Calado – we never expected to get on the podium this weekend and managing to do so, with a race executed almost perfectly, is something to be proud of. It is also a good result in terms of the World Championship standings. Now Austin awaits us, where we know we can be competitive, so we will have to maximize the result and continue to do our best because we have seen that this philosophy pays off: after all, no one expected to see a Ferrari second here in Brazil, so we must keep fighting.”
