In the 6 Hours of Brazil at the Interlagos circuit, the Ferrari #51 was the protagonist of a super comeback that brought the Maranello hypercar even to the brink of victory. After the second place in Imola, another P2 arrived for the defending champions.
Thanks to the 18 points from second place and also because the leaders of the Drivers’ standings did not have a brilliant Sunday, the ranking has tightened and now Giovinazzi, Calado and Pier Guidi are at -22 points from defending the throne. An unimaginable scenario on the eve of the Interlagos event.
“We are very happy with the result obtained on one of the tracks that are certainly not among the most favorable for the 499P – said Antonello Coletta – the team did an incredible job with excellent strategies, without which we would not have been able to finish second, and to fight for top positions. There remains a bit of bitterness for the Drive Through of the 50 and the incident that occurred in the last stint which deprived the car of a possible podium. Also good was the 83 which was a protagonist at the start of the race, then damaged the nose in a touch and had to finish the race like that and this was certainly a disadvantage. We return home motivated and already focused on the next event in Austin“.
