Marquez still king at Sachsenring
The legend of Marc Marquez at Sachsenring continues. With the latest victory, the world champion has reached double digits in top class wins on the German track (10). Only one other rider in history had achieved this: Giacomo Agostini on the Finnish track of Imatra.
Of course, Ago‘s record risks having “limited” years, because Marquez has at least another 3-4 high-level seasons, and can think of writing more pages of history on a track he knows better than his own pockets.
The Ducati star boasts an incredible record of ten wins out of 11 GP races contested in top class. To complete this “album” of triumphs, only the 2024 edition is missing, finished in second place with the Gresini team after starting from 13th position. Here Marquez has also secured nine pole positions. Taking into account the feeder classes as well, the Ducati rider has achieved 13 wins in Germany: in this case it is not a record, as Agostini has 16 total wins at Imatra.

And it’s not over yet…
Marquez will now go on vacation, like the entire MotoGP. Upon return there will be Silverstone, and after another break comes Aragón, another track where Marquez has often been victorious. Should the Cabroncito also win at MotorLand, he would rise to eight wins: in this ranking he would be third, matching the number of triumphs of Agostini himself at Spa and Valentino Rossi at Assen.
