Aprilia leadership trembles
“I’m as happy as a hedgehog” said Massimo Rivola after Aprilia’s double win at Mugello at the end of the Italian GP won by Marco Bezzecchi.
Just over 40 days later the situation is decidedly less rosy for the Noale factory. Marc Marquez after Mugello was over 100 points behind the lead, now he is 18 points behind Jorge Martin. Aprilia has been competitive again, but Marquez, although far from ideal physical condition, has won the third GP in the last four races.
“It was a weekend that once again saw Aprilia competitive – Rivola’s words – with another podium secured by both riders of the SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team, to whom we extend our congratulations, and with a Jorge who fought with great determination, bringing home an excellent fifth place”.
“In the morning Marco, to whom we send a big hug, was successfully operated on – he added – we hope to have him back on track already at Silverstone. We have four competitive Aprilias, a sign of the great work done in Noale, and we want to see all four fighting for the top positions“.
