Antonelli, a triumph of mentality at Spa
On the eve of the Belgian GP, it seemed that Kimi Antonelli was set to win easily. The remarkable growth of the Bolognese is also evident from the expectations everyone has for this driver. He is still a boy not even 20 years old, but he certainly doesn’t show it: consistency in performance and maturity beyond his years for #12, who remains calm even in the face of adverse events (such as the Virtual Safety Car that could have taken away a victory already in his pocket) and fully deserves his sixth win of the season.

With the triumph at Spa, Antonelli is certain to go on vacation as the World Championship leader. Despite the victory, the Mercedes driver keeps his feet on the ground and acknowledges Ferrari’s strength, convinced that in seven days a very different tune will be played for the Scuderia.
Antonelli’s words
“It was a tough race, because in terms of pace we were all very close. With the VSC, Charles went ahead, but he was very fast today and it was also difficult to get away, because the slipstream was very strong. In fact, when I overtook him, I struggled to get out of overtake mode,” these are Antonelli’s words to Sky Sport F1. “It was a nice victory, it’s great to receive so much support and it’s a privilege to represent Italy, in my small way I try to do my best and bring the tricolor to the top step.”

“Now we have to focus on Budapest, where Ferrari will definitely be very strong,” he added. “This week we brought a slightly lighter package, in Hungary we will return with the setup from previous races. But it still won’t be easy, because Ferrari is very strong: it will be important to try to maximize every single session and bring home the best possible result.”
