The leadership of the world championship standings does not change after the Mugello Sprint. Marco Bezzecchi remains in command, but he loses a little ground to teammate Jorge Martin, who finished second behind the winner Raul Fernandez and is now at -12. The big protagonist, not only on the track but also in the standings, is the young Spanish rider from Trackhouse, who takes fifth place overall, displacing his Japanese teammate Ai Ogura at 80 points (so far at Mugello the least in form among the Aprilia riders).

After two forced zeros at Le Mans and Barcelona, Marc Marquez returns to scoring points, finishing fifth and resuming the chase for Pecco Bagnaia, seventh. Now the gap of the nine-time champion from the top is 86 points, but at least positive impressions have arrived on the physical front after the double surgery for the fracture to the right foot and the operation on the damaged screw in the right shoulder. Speaking of Ducati riders, the best remains Fabio Di Giannantonio, who confirms third place both on track and in the standings, 25 points behind leader Bezzecchi.
