BYD presents a new "smart" chip

BYD strengthens its strategy in smart mobility by presenting the new Driving SoC XUANJI A3 at 4nm. This is a chip developed internally to support the future evolution of driver assistance systems and advanced autonomous driving. The announcement came on the occasion of the Intelligence Strategy Launch Event, during which the company reiterated its commitment to continue investing in safety, artificial intelligence, and proprietary technologies. After redefining battery safety standards with the Blade Battery, the Chinese tech company takes a new strategic step by focusing on intelligent solutions capable of making the driving experience safer, more advanced, and reliable.

New BYD chip

The new XUANJI A3 is designed to enable advanced intelligent driving functions and is a central piece of BYD’s technology roadmap. Manufactured with a 4nm production process, the chip aims to offer high computing performance, greater energy efficiency, and processing capacity suitable for complex driving scenarios. Thanks to a three-chip configuration, it can reach over 2,100 TOPS of computing power per vehicle, helping to improve responsiveness, precision, and safety of ADAS systems and, more generally, the quality of decisions supported by onboard algorithms.

Advanced technology roadmap

This strategy is part of the broader program “Intelligent Driving for All“, aiming to progressively make driver assistance technologies available on an increasingly wide range of vehicles, reducing road risks through increasingly effective tools for prevention and driver support. In parallel, BYD has announced in China dedicated coverage for some advanced functions of the God’s Eye system – BYD Driver Assistance System (such as Urban Navigate on Autopilot and Intelligent Parking), while for Europe the introduction will follow different timing and regulatory conditions. The system also benefits from updates such as XUANJI 2.0, advanced sensors, improved AI models, and a data flywheel based on real scenarios, as well as the integration, inside the cabin, of the DiLink AI Intelligent Cockpit for a more natural and personalized interaction.
