Di Giannantonio third in the Mugello Sprint
After showing great potential from the first sessions of the Mugello weekend, Fabio Di Giannantonio missed that decisive spark in Qualifying that today could have made the difference. Starting seventh, the Roman confirmed his competitiveness in the short Mugello race, securing an important third place thanks to a good start and quick overtakes on Marc Marquez and Diogo Moreira. And who knows how it would have gone starting one row ahead.

Looking ahead to the GP, the prospects are even brighter, because everyone will start with the same tires (and so there will be no room for winning bets like the medium rear tire used by Raul Fernandez and Jorge Martin), while #49 will be able to set his own pace.
Di Giannantonio’s words
“P3 was the best today. I’m really happy because at Mugello you can overtake, but it’s not that easy. I want to watch the race again, but I think I did really well in the first laps. I managed to get away from the group quite quickly. Only Raul and Jorge had more with the medium, while I had to manage to make it to the end,” this was his comment to Sky Sport MotoGP. “It’s definitely a super positive moment, another podium. I really wanted the top-3, also because I was really annoyed not to be on the front row in qualifying. We made some changes that maybe were a bit harmful, but we needed to do something more because I was very strong in qualifying pace“.

“The choice of the soft rear tire? We relied a bit on Ducati’s data, also because I did few laps yesterday, I couldn’t ride well because my hand wasn’t feeling great, plus this morning I had a problem in the second run. But they made a good choice, because in the end they were ahead“.
