11.35 – Quite surprising qualifying at least regarding the result of the official Aprilias. Martin and Bezzecchi will have to fight to come back.
11.30 – Pole position for Pedro Acosta, the best Ducati is Franco Morbidelli’s in second ahead of Alex Marquez, Martin claws the third row, Bezzecchi will start from the fourth.

11.28 – Alex Marquez launches, Acosta chases him overtaking Martin in Turn 1.
11.27 – Bezzecchi will therefore start from the back both today and tomorrow. Quartararo has moved up to fifth position.

11.04 – Aldeguer falls, Morbidelli had set the best time, but went beyond the curb at the exit of the last corner, time cancelled.
11.03 – Martin also falls in Turn 5.

11.02 – Crash for Razgatlioglu, Martin has taken the lead in 1’38″701, 96 thousandths faster than Bastianini.
11.01 – Martin sets the same time as Bastianini, so he is second.
11.00 – Martin launches using Moreira’s slipstream and passes him in Turn 1.
10.59 – Razgatlioglu went wide into the gravel in Turn 4 after nearly sliding, the Turkish rider ruined the tires and is in last position without timed laps.

10.56 – Bastianini lowers to 1’38″797, Morbidelli is second at 47 thousandths. Martin made a mistake in Turn 4 in this first run. Now in the box Martin has decided to change bike.
10.55 – For now Bastianini is the fastest in 1’39″130, but it is only the first flying lap.
10.53 – Bagnaia, Martin and Ogura opted for two soft tires, all others have medium front.

10.39 – Di Giannantonio mounted slightly fresher tires and moved up to third position behind Mir and Acosta.
10.37 – Bezzecchi has moved up to tenth position.

10.25 – Encouraging start of the session for Bagnaia who currently occupies fifth position.

Good morning dear readers of FormulaPassion.it and welcome back to the live written coverage of FP2 and the 2026 Catalonia GP Qualifying, the sixth round of the MotoGP World Championship.
Q1 will already be a turning point of the weekend because Jorge Martin, Francesco Bagnaia and Ai Ogura will be on track. Only two of them will be able to access Q2, a session for which Pedro Acosta, Alex Marquez, Brad Binder, Raul Fernandez, Johann Zarco, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Joan Mir, Jack Miller and Fabio Quartararo have already qualified.
