Toyota starts 2026 on the right foot
Toyota christened the TR010 Hybrid by winning the 6 Hours of Imola. For the Japanese manufacturer, this is the 50th victory out of 100 races that have seen the Japanese team compete in the WEC World Endurance Championship. Below are the words of the drivers of car #8, which conquered the Santerno starting from the front row and moving into first position thanks to a strategy of pitting before Ferrari #50 and then #51.

Sebastien Buemi: “Achieving our 50th victory in our 100th race, on Ferrari’s home turf and at the debut of the TR010 Hybrid, is a fantastic story. Much of the credit goes to the Higashi-Fuji and Cologne teams for their extraordinary work. Their reaction to a difficult year like 2025 was impressive. Of course, this is only the first race, but congratulations to the entire team. The execution was excellent, so I am very proud of everyone”.
Brendon Hartley: “It’s an incredible feeling. The TR010 Hybrid looked fast even before hitting the track, and now it has won on its debut. The team has worked hard in recent months to prepare for this first race. It was a real team effort, and it’s not often you get a victory with a feeling like this. There was a fantastic crowd here in Imola and the podium was a beautiful moment. It really feels like a special day”.
