Confusion at the end of Q3
The Qualifying for the Belgian GP at Spa had a thrilling finish. The FIA delegates forced Isack Hadjar to stop in the pit lane and a marshal therefore waved the yellow flag to signal the danger caused by the Red Bull stopped in a position where the road is already quite narrow.

The drivers arriving at the Bus Stop chicane saw the yellow flag and even though there was no danger on track they obviously lifted the foot to avoid heavy penalties from three positions upwards.
Among the drivers who had to slow down were the Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton who obtained the fifth and sixth fastest times overall. Due to the penalty that Lando Norris will have to serve, Charles Leclerc will start in the second row and according to team principal Frederic Vasseur, without this ‘yellow’ Leclerc could have aimed for third place.

“Leclerc lifted the foot, I don’t know what happened at the last corner, he lost at least one position compared to Russell – Vasseur’s words to the microphones of Sky – but Norris will be penalized and so we will recover a position anyway. The gaps are minimal, the race will be long, and even this weekend we are improving session after session.”
