For Leclerc, it was an opportunity to reconnect with fans ahead of the most anticipated race of the year. The Monegasque greeted the enthusiasts promising them a fighting Ferrari at the home GP.
Leclerc’s words
“Every time we come here to Monza it’s always a unique emotion. I grew up as a Ferrari fan, and now living this experience as a driver is truly special“.
“A win at Monza would be the best. This week is unique for us. Honestly, it’s an incredible boost, I really hope we can give another victory to these fans on Sunday“, he added. “It’s a strange year, because at Spa and Silverstone we thought we would have tougher weekends but we did well. Honestly, we think the same for Monza, but we believe in it and we will give our all to try to be on the top two steps of the podium“.
Leclerc, already a winner at Monza in 2019 and 2024, knows well that with the SF-26 it will be difficult to make it a hat-trick, considering that the power unit is the car’s weak point. Starting this weekend, however, he will have an extra weapon, called ADUO-2: Ferrari’s engine will indeed have the second update allowed this season, which will provide a gain of about 12-15 horsepower.
