Verstappen towards Monza
Max Verstappen arrives in Monza even more motivated than usual. Zandvoort, in fact, was very bitter for the home favorite, who ended up spinning into the barriers after less than a lap due to a mistake not typical of him. The Italian GP is therefore an opportunity for redemption for the four-time world champion, who will rest on Friday morning. In his place, Red Bull will field Ayumu Iwasa during the four FP1 sessions that must be reserved for rookies.

Verstappen’s words
“Not being able to finish the race at Zandvoort was disappointing, but it was still really special to see the fans on track one last time and thank them for all the emotions. Now we go to Monza and it’s hard to predict how competitive we will be there,” commented Verstappen.
“There are some things we need to work on to get a bit closer in race pace and to make sure the car setup is correct. Monza is one of my favorite circuits and I like that it’s an old-school, fast track; I always enjoy coming here and seeing the passionate fans. It’s a circuit where we have usually achieved good results in the past, let’s see what will be possible“.

Lawson’s words
Red Bull’s lineup changes go beyond Friday morning and extend throughout the race weekend. Isack Hadjar is still out due to a left wrist injury and will be replaced by Liam Lawson: “It’s nice to know that Isack is recovering well and will be back on track soon, but it’s great to be able to spend another weekend with Red Bull. Zandvoort gave me a really useful first reference with the car, and having already completed a full Sprint weekend means I arrive in Monza with a much better understanding of the car. It’s a completely different circuit and there will be new challenges, but I’m looking forward to making the most of the Dutch weekend“.
For Lawson, Sunday will bring the first real race weekend showdown with Verstappen, after the two unfortunate 2025 GPs that led to his “demotion” to Racing Bulls.
