Hadjar does not recover: also in Monza as a spectator
Isack Hadjar will not compete even in the Monza weekend. The Frenchman has not yet fully recovered after the injury to his left wrist that also cost him the Zandvoort weekend.

Red Bull, which announced Hadjar’s new forfait a few minutes ago, confirmed that the Frenchman will be replaced by Liam Lawson at the wheel of the RB22. The New Zealander’s seat in Racing Bulls will again be taken by Yuki Tsunoda, who made his return to F1 in the Netherlands.

“Liam will drive alongside Max in the Italian GP while Isack continues to show encouraging progress following the wrist injury sustained during the summer break“, reads the team’s statement.

“The team is closely monitoring Isack’s rehabilitation and will not take any unnecessary risks for his return to the track, wishing him a speedy recovery“.
Hadjar sustained the injury a few days before leaving for Zandvoort during a gym training session. The Frenchman had expressed optimism about returning in Monza, but – as we reported – such an injury would require caution. The driver was still wearing a wrist brace last weekend, not a good sign ahead of the Italian GP. And indeed he will remain on the sidelines. Reading the last sentence of the statement, a question mark also arises for the Madrid appointment (September 11-13).
