Antonelli stronger even than bad luck
After a rather unlucky period Andrea Kimi Antonelli returned to victory at the Belgian GP in Spa. The Italian driver was controlling the race after losing the lead only for a few meters during the first lap.

The Virtual Safety Car used by Ferrari to take the lead with Charles Leclerc added some spice to the final phase of the race, but this time Antonelli’s chase was not stopped by a technical problem and the decisive overtake on the SF-26 number #16 came.
Antonelli now in the World Championship standings is +45 over Lewis Hamilton because George Russell did not score points after going off track during the first lap following a contact with Lewis Hamilton defined by the Mercedes driver as a racing incident.

Toto Wolff does not consider Ferrari a particular threat in the world championship perspective and supports a derby between Mercedes drivers: “I believe the group is quite tight, but the Antonelli-Mercedes duo has something extra, it is faster than all the others – Wolff’s words to Sky – today without the Virtual Safety Car the victory would have been clear. Ferrari is still very strong, as is Verstappen, and today we could not see the full potential of Lando Norris. Who is Antonelli’s rival? I say Russell so that in any case there is a Mercedes winning”.
