VR46 turns on Bulega. Raul Fernandez, future at risk?

Aldeguer plus Bulega: VR46 changes

Still awaiting official confirmations, Valentino Rossi’s VR46 for 2027 has decided to say goodbye to current riders Fabio Di Giannantonio (moving to KTM) and Franco Morbidelli. In their place will be Fermin Aldeguer (coming from the Gresini team) and alongside the Spaniard, the winner would have been Nicolò Bulega, a dominant figure with Ducati in Superbike.
Bulega would have beaten – according to rumors reported by Sky Italia – the candidacies of Celestino Vietti and Luca Marini.
For the 27-year-old from Montecchio Emilia, it is a return, since from 2016 to 2019 he was part of VR46 in Moto3 and Moto2, achieving two podiums.

And Raul Fernandez?

After triumphing in the Mugello Sprint, Raul Fernandez confided in the Spanish press, emphasizing how his future in MotoGP is now more than ever uncertain despite the fifth place in the world championship.
“This for me is the most beautiful but also the most difficult moment of my life. In these last weeks, with everything that is seen and read, it is really hard to manage,” explained the Spaniard, adding: “From what we read, the situation is not easy. Whether I have a bike or not does not depend on me. I do my best every time I get on the bike, I try 100%. Today I am a Trackhouse rider and I will be until the end of the year and I have to be professional. Whatever happens next year, I have my family and – after today – I am at peace with myself.”

It is no secret that Trackhouse is quite close to securing the services of Enea Bastianini and Aprilia might aim for an Italian quartet and it is rumored that Luca Marini could be a strong candidate for the other seat of the American team.
And Raul Fernandez has not hidden that the latest market developments could leave him without a MotoGP contract for 2027.
