Stroll criticizes the new regulations
The Thursday statements from Miami by Lance Stroll are noteworthy, especially because throughout the break F1 president Stefano Domenicali emphasized the need to wash dirty laundry behind closed doors.
Stroll does not seem to have listened to the directives from above: “People are still watching F1 anyway, so F1 is happy. But the fans, the drivers, and the people who really know what racing is and how it was before, know what it means to drive a truly good car. We are far from the real F1 cars.”

Stroll’s sharp criticism
In statements reported by Autosport, The Race and GPBlog, Lance Stroll then continued with detailed arguments: “We hope the situation improves with the changes, since partial throttle use and all these things are simply destroying the races and qualifying. We hope driving becomes a bit more normal. But we are very far from where we should be. Now that I had free time I found myself watching old races and the historic Monaco GP and I heard some Ferraris from the early 2000s and appreciated their sound and how small and agile they were. I also watched onboard footage from the V8 and V10 era and compared it with the current ones. Those cars had their own character, everything seemed more intense and exciting compared to today.”
And he concluded: “During the break I tried an F3 and it was a thousand times more fun than these F1s.”.
