Stellantis, growth above the market. Fiat leads

The positive trajectory of Stellantis in Italy is also confirmed in May. The Group led by CEO Filosa has been able to grow for the fifth consecutive month at a pace higher than that of the entire market. This is indicated by the registration data processed by Dataforce, which also includes Leapmotor. In the ranking of the best-selling cars, Stellantis further consolidates its leadership by placing three models in the top four positions. Fiat Pandina is in first place, followed by Leapmotor T03 and Jeep Avenger in fourth place.

Stellantis continues to grow in Italy

Overall, in May the Group’s brands active in Italy total 43,426 registrations, with a growth of 9.9% compared to the national market, which in the same month rises by 7.6% reaching 150,096 registrations. Stellantis’ share thus stands at 28.9%, an increase of 0.6% compared to last May. Particularly bright is the private channel, where the company records a 52% increase in volumes and a growth in share from 20.8% (May 2025) to 27.3% last month. Looking also at the cumulative of 2026, the Group reaches 250,018 registrations (+14.7% year on year), with a share of 31.6% (+1.4% compared to the same period last year). And it does so confirming Fiat’s primacy in the passenger car market.

Fiat leads, but not only

In detail of the individual brands, Fiat stands out both in May and in the total of the first five months. It counts 15,171 and 92,769 registrations and shares respectively of 10.1% and 11.7% (growing by 1.6 and 1.8 percentage points). In the city car segment, Pandina Hybrid clearly ranks first with 8,977 registrations in May, while Grande Panda closes the first five months with 19,870 units, ranking among the best sellers and in first place in segment B. Leapmotor’s results are also positive: according to Dataforce the brand closes May with 4,765 registrations (+1,278% compared to May 2025) and becomes the brand with the highest year-on-year growth. This is mainly thanks to the BEV sector, where it reaches a 34.5% share (a new record) which rises to 48% in the private channel. In the commercial vehicle market, Fiat Professional confirms its leadership. In May 3,628 registrations (23.3% share) and in the first five months 19,501 units (24.9%).
