Stellantis and Wayve have announced a strategic technology partnership aimed at bringing Wayve’s automated driving artificial intelligence into Stellantis’ STLA AutoDrive platform. Under the agreement, the group plans to integrate Wayve AI Driver, enabling supervised hands-free driving at level 2++ in urban and highway contexts. The collaboration represents a concrete step forward in the company’s strategy in the field of advanced driver assistance systems. The goal is to offer functions that are not only safe and reliable but also more “natural” in interaction with the user, making the assisted driving experience more intuitive and coherent.

The partnership also fits within the framework of Stellantis’ strategic investment in Wayve and marks the start of a new phase of collaboration between the two companies. On one hand, Wayve brings an end-to-end artificial intelligence approach, designed to learn and adapt progressively. On the other hand, Stellantis provides the advanced STLA AutoDrive platform, along with its engineering expertise and industrial scale capability to transform technological innovation into customer-ready solutions. In this way, the common technological base can evolve over time towards more advanced levels of automation, following both regulatory developments and market expectations.
Initial goal level 2++
The initial goal of the collaboration is supervised hands-free automated driving door-to-door (Level 2++), extended to both highway routes and urban environments. The STLA AutoDrive platform is designed precisely as a flexible and scalable system: not only to enable the functionalities planned in the first step but also to support further future developments. The first vehicle integration is planned in North America in 2028, paving the way for a gradual implementation in multiple markets. Wayve’s approach allows adapting functionalities to different geographic areas and types of vehicles, aiming to bring advanced driver assistance to a wide range of customers.
