When will Marquez return?
After the double surgery that Marc Marquez underwent after Le Mans, the Spanish champion watched the Barcelona weekend from his couch at home. And his gap from the world championship leader Marco Bezzecchi has grown to 85 points, certainly a very significant margin.
Marc Marquez will try to return to the track already during the Italian Grand Prix weekend next weekend. The Spaniard will undergo medical examinations in the coming days and then will appear in the paddock for a further check with Dr. Charte, the MotoGP medical director.

Aprilia fears Marc
In the long interview given to Mundo Deportivo, Massimo Rivola – CEO of Aprilia Racing – admitted to looking with some fear at Marquez’s return from injury: “We know that Marc will come back stronger than before, as always. He has already done it once, twice, three times and so he will do it again. I do not exclude him from the title fight, absolutely not. We have also seen in the past how Pecco recovered more than 90 points from mid-season onwards. Now we are only at six races out of 22, so it is very early. We must not look at the standings, but only at our performances.”
Rivola then added: “I feel very sorry for Marc, I have always said that for us it is fantastic to face the strongest rider of recent years with the strongest bike of recent years, they are a real motivation. I wish him the best and hope he can return as soon as possible.”
In the world championship standings Marco Bezzecchi leads the championship with 142 points, followed by Jorge Martin with 127, Fabio Di Giannantonio with 116, Pedro Acosta with 92, Ai Ogura with 77, Raul Fernandez with 68, Alex Marquez with 67, Pecco Bagnaia with 63 and Marc Marquez with 57.
