Steps forward at Le Mans
Less than a week after the French Grand Prix, preparations for the Barcelona Grand Prix have already begun at the Montmelò circuit, which will take place this very weekend. An event that will have some importance for the official Yamaha team, even more so after the first encouraging signs of recovery seen at Le Mans.

Another test after Jerez
Right on the home circuit of Fabio Quartararo, ‘El Diablo’ finished the Sprint in fifth position, then crossed the finish line of the Sunday race in 6th place. In both cases, it was the best seasonal result for the 2021 world champion and Yamaha, with #20 hoping to replicate similar performances in Barcelona: “I was really happy with how I felt on the bike during Saturday and Sunday at Le Mans, and the results were quite good. Montmeló is a track I like, and this weekend will be a good test to understand if the setup we found in the Jerez tests also works well here. I am focused and motivated, as always, so I will give my best to achieve the best possible results again.”

The home rider’s goals
After Le Mans, this weekend will be a true home race for Quartararo’s teammate: Alex Rins. The support of the fans in Barcelona could prove to be an extra motivation for the Spaniard, who scored points last weekend with 12th place, which still represents his best seasonal result: “I always like the stop in Catalonia. At Montmeló we have the opportunity to work thoroughly on the bike setup, since we also have tests after the race weekend, which will allow us to analyze the data more deeply and try different options. The goal for the race weekend is to regain the feeling I had on Friday at the French GP and then we will see what we can do.”
