Hunting for something more
In the last French Grand Prix, Luca Marini had finished in tenth place, thus achieving his fifth consecutive points finish in five races. Thanks to these results, the 28-year-old from Tavullia is currently the highest-ranked Honda rider in the world championship standings, but at the end of the Le Mans weekend he was very clear: “Positive result, but it’s no longer what we want”.

Le Mans: an isolated case
A step forward, either his or the Japanese manufacturer’s, could therefore materialize this weekend at Montmelò, where the Barcelona Grand Prix will take place. A goal that #10 emphasized once again: “We get straight back to work in a very intense period of the season, but I can’t wait. In France we didn’t show all our potential, so this is a good opportunity to prove that it was just an isolated episode and that we can fight for higher positions. The plan is similar to usual: we have to capitalize on the work done at the start of the weekend and get into Q2. I’m confident that we can do better on Saturday and Sunday compared to Le Mans“.

Mir also convinced
Desire for redemption also from Joan Mir, who will compete in front of his home crowd. After the bad crash in France, which denied him the chance to reach the top-5, the Spaniard wants to make up for the lost opportunity: “The hand is more or less fine after the crash, I just needed a few stitches. Of course, there is some pain and we have to see how the situation evolves, but I’m not too worried. I want to give my best this weekend for the Catalonia GP, not only because it’s my home race, but because I know we have the ability to get a good result. In France we had great speed compared to the other Honda riders and I can’t wait to show our potential again.”
