No break for MotoGP, which just days after the conclusion of the French Grand Prix at the Le Mans circuit lays the groundwork for the sixth event of the season: after Jerez, the MotoGP returns to Spain, this time on the Montmelò track, home of the Barcelona Grand Prix. In Catalonia Fabio Di Giannantonio arrives charged and motivated after the 4th place obtained in France, achieved thanks to an attack carried out on Pedro Acosta at the last corner of the last lap, with the Spaniard however criticizing ‘Diggia’ for an incident before the finish line.

First after the Aprilias
Third in the world championship behind only the two official Aprilia riders, themselves separated by one point, the 27-year-old Roman commented on his approach to the Barcelona weekend: “We’re back on the bike immediately! For me, it’s a wonderful thing, because every time I miss MotoGP after some time without riding. The Barcelona weekend is always crazy, with so many fans! It’s a very beautiful track and I have always liked racing here. Moreover, it is very different from Le Mans, we go from excellent grip on the track to a circuit with very little grip. We will try to play our cards and take advantage of this change in condition, which is not favorable to us a priori, but we will try to make it so. We have many things to try, both during the weekend and on Monday’s test day. We believe in it!”

In Spain to come back
The most critical and delicate moment of the season for Franco Morbidelli. Coming off 14th place in France, the Italo-Brazilian occupies only 15th position in the overall standings, hoping to gain valuable points from the next GP to recover in the rankings: “Now we go to Barcelona, which is a completely different track from Le Mans, where we raced just a few days ago. I can’t wait for Friday and to start the weekend in general: I’m eager to get back to work with the whole team to try to understand how to further improve the bike’s performance. Track time is all we need. We have to ride, collect data and information. Everything is in place to do this kind of work, so I’m happy to arrive immediately at Montmelo, where we will also have a test day after the weekend, which will be very important.”
