El Diablo to the rookie’s rescue
Last place among the regular MotoGP riders, over two seconds behind Marco Bezzecchi, seven tenths from the nearest Yamaha of Alex Rins, and over a second from teammate Jack Miller. The verdict of the stopwatch at the end of the Buriram tests in Thailand was merciless for Toprak Razgatlioglu, who did not hide the fact that he felt a bit of natural bewilderment facing an impact with MotoGP that is proving more difficult than expected.
Making the task even more uphill for the three-time Superbike world champion is certainly a Yamaha that is currently terrifying from a performance standpoint, as evidenced by the fact that the other representatives of the Iwata house are themselves sailing light years away from the top positions.

Fabio Quartararo stated that he can only feel solidarity towards the Turkish rider: “I saw him really desperate, mentally it’s difficult for him because he’s used to always being in the top-3 – the words of the 2021 world champion reported by the publication crash.net – he arrived at Yamaha’s most difficult moment and has to get used to completely different tires.
