Renewals over the weekend
During the Emilia-Romagna Round, dominated by the world championship leader Nicolò Bulega, two pieces of news arrived from the rider market, with Kawasaki and Bimota renewing contracts for the next season with their respective representatives. News that added to another official announcement much appreciated by Italian Superbike fans, some of whom were present in the stands of the Misano Adriatico circuit.

Over thirty years together
The Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli”, in fact, will remain on the Superbike calendar until 2031. Inaugurated in 1972 and renamed in memory of the late Simoncelli in 2012, the track has always hosted the Superbike world championship since 1991 to today, becoming a great classic of the championship. Consequently, the races will also be held in the next five seasons, all thanks to an agreement reached between Superbike, the circuit, the Emilia-Romagna Region and local institutions: “The Misano World Circuit has played an important role in the history and growth of WorldSBK, and we are very pleased to confirm that it will continue to be part of the Championship until 2031 – said Gregorio Lavilla, Executive Director of WSBK – the Emilia-Romagna Round is one of the key events of the season, combining a passionate audience, a solid motorcycling culture and a context that continues to grow according to the needs of the Championship. This long-term agreement reflects the strength of our relationship with the Misano World Circuit, the Emilia-Romagna Region and local institutions, and gives us a solid base to continue developing the event for fans, teams and partners.”

Great satisfaction and pride also expressed by Andrea Albani, Managing Director of the Misano circuit: “WorldSBK is an extraordinary event that anticipated the latest trends in motorsport entertainment, increasingly focused on fan participation and immersive experiences. A format that perfectly combines with the multifunctional nature of the Misano World Circuit. Also important is the fact that it is an event that generates significant profits for the entire area, with an economic impact of almost 30 million euros and 154,000 tourist overnight stays.”
