Because when the new CLA 45 4MATIC+ crossed the finish line of the Nurburgring-Nordschleife, right at that hour on that day, celebrations began in the pit lane. The reason? A record lap time. Which was officially certified: 7:32.070 minutes. This means that the four-door sports sedan from the Star brand has claimed the title of the fastest car in its segment on the Nordschleife.

Record-breaking Mercedes-AMG CLA 45
In summer conditions, with ambient temperature of 24 °C and asphalt at 30 °C, the car demonstrated its performance qualities on the very first attempt. Thanks to its innovative axial flow motors: after the Mercedes‑AMG GT Coupé 4, it is in fact only the second fully electric production car to use this high-performance technology. In this specific case, we are talking about three extremely powerful electric motors, two on the rear axle and one on the front axle. The specifications: a total power of up to 500 kW (680 HP), acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds.

Moreover, the power delivery is further enhanced by the ability of the liquid-cooled motors to repeatedly provide full power. In short, a perfect combo: intelligent all-wheel drive, adaptive suspension, and sophisticated energy management ensure maximum driving dynamics. And above all, record-breaking performance, as evidenced by what happened at the Nurburgring. In celebrating the new record, Mercedes-AMG recalled that the start of sales of the new CLA 45 4MATIC+ is scheduled for August 2026.
