Ferrari, mid-season analysis
As already told to Canal Plus, and also to the French Auto Hebdo, team principal Frederic Vasseur reiterated his judgment on Ferrari’s first half of the season. “Like at school: “Good, but it can be better“. It is a step forward compared to 2025, because we are more competitive.

The car is quite good, which was not a given for the first year of a new regulation“, explained the French manager.
Ferrari is currently second in the constructors’ championship, 72 points behind Mercedes.
The engine problem
It was not a surprise to be far behind in terms of power unit for Ferrari. Vasseur emphasized: “Mercedes is still well ahead, at least in terms of the engine. It was expected to be tough for us on the engine for a year. And considering the starting deficit, we are doing quite well. Obviously, it is not enough, because we want to win”.

Vasseur and the ADUO hope
After the summer Ferrari will introduce its engine with the ‘vitamins’ of the ADUO, the most important update on the SF-26 power unit.
At Maranello they do not make proclamations yet, still Vasseur: “Completely catching up with Mercedes? I would say no. It will help, that is for sure. When you look at Mercedes and Red Bull, we are talking about one or two tenths per lap difference given by the engine. It is not, however, an important advantage to close”.
