Martin, bad day in Barcelona
After dominating the Sprint and the Le Mans GP, Jorge Martin starts the weekend in Catalonia very badly. At Montmeló the Spaniard ends up in the gravel twice: the first in FP1 with a crash that also caused some fright and a mild concussion; the second in turn 2 in the last part of Practice, which costs him direct access to Q2.

The 2024 world champion will therefore have to face a very noble Q1: Francesco Bagnaia will be there, and Ai Ogura should not be underestimated either. However, he will arrive as a favorite, provided he solves some problems on the time attack.

Martin’s words
“I am fine after the crashes. Surely this morning’s crash was bad, because I stayed under the bike. It may be that it took away some confidence in braking, it can happen. I don’t think it went like that, but the feeling was not fantastic indeed“, this is Martin’s comment to Sky Sport MotoGP. “The important thing is to find something on the bike, tomorrow will be another opportunity“.
“Surely something can be done on the time attack“, he added. “Since Jerez we have gone on a slightly different path from the others: it went well in Le Mans, but here it is working the opposite. I think I need a different bike, we have to go back a bit. Fortunately we have other RS-GP26 ahead, and I know Aprilia is very strong. We will find the solution“.
