The least surprised of all is Acosta himself, who expected that on a circuit like Montmeló the RC16 could be competitive. Now the great performance in the Tests must be translated into solid results both Saturday and Sunday, based on a race pace that seems more promising compared to Le Mans.
Acosta’s words
“KTM has been working really well here for many years, something is still missing because we are struggling to execute the long run. But we are giving it our all“, this was his comment to Sky Sport MotoGP.

“We expect to be more competitive at the end of the race compared to what we saw in Le Mans. For this reason, we have to stay calm and work well in the garage“, he added.
