The Safety Commission issue
After the scares from the serious accidents that occurred in Barcelona, several MotoGP riders – including Pedro Acosta and Joan Mir for example – have shown more sensitivity on the topic of the Safety Commission. As is well known, only Pecco Bagnaia, Jack Miller, and Luca Marini have been attending the riders’ Friday meetings for a long time, and yesterday at Mugello, a few more MotoGP protagonists were expected to discuss the urgent safety issues.

But some riders have said they would not go anyway, like Fabio Quartararo – “There is nothing to discuss, it is a high-risk sport.”
Marquez and the many commitments
In the last two years, appearances by Marc Marquez have been rare. The Spaniard explained to Dazn Spain the reasons for his absences: “We riders are under excessive pressure. We have 44 races and are asked a lot in terms of events and commitments. During the race weekend, we are asked much more than in the past. Plus, you also have to manage your body and recover. I haven’t gone to the physiotherapist lately, I haven’t attended the Safety Commissions for two years because there is no time”.

Marquez then added: “I can’t be both recording TikTok and also be in the Safety Commission. I say TikTok as an example, but we can’t be in a thousand places at once. Especially if my priority is to recover energy during the weekend. For the Spaniard, the way forward is fixed representatives: “I would like there to be that unity we sought 2 years ago. There were 2 or 3 who led the group and it went quite well. Why not do it again?”
