Genesis X Gran Berlinetta, a study for high performance

A new prototype signed Genesis comes to light. We are talking about the new X Gran Berlinetta, a concept born as a study dedicated to high-performance grand touring. The Korean brand presented it in 2023 as a full-scale physical model. Since January of the following year, it has been available in Gran Turismo 7, while the dynamic debut took place at the beginning of 2025 on the Mount Panorama circuit, in Bathurst, with Jacky Ickx at the wheel.

From an aesthetic point of view, the pure and muscular volumes of the prototype focus around the wheels, while the cab-backwards proportions, with the cockpit set back, emphasize the relationship between its long front and the driving position. The architecture of this concept is built around a parabolic tension that crosses the silhouette, while the dash-to-axle ratio managing the distance between the front axle and the base of the windshield has been maximized by moving back the driving position and the powertrain. Elsewhere, the front proposes an abstract interpretation of the Crest Grille, which is visually connected to the Quad Lights through a lightweight aerodynamic structure.

Over 1,000 HP and 1,330 Nm

Genesis has focused heavily on aerodynamics; in fact, the new X Gran Berlinetta boasts a drag coefficient of 0.34. Under the hood hides a competition hybrid powertrain, which according to the Korean manufacturer is capable of developing a total of 1,086 HP and 1,336 Nm of torque. The system combines a front-mid mounted V6 Lambda II engine, capable of reaching 10,000 rpm, with Genesis E-SC technology and the contribution of a Yasa E electric motor.
