Quartararo’s Controversy
On the sidelines of the Aragon Grand Prix weekend, which ended with a very poor last position, Fabio Quartararo wanted to start a controversy against Yamaha.
The French champion directly attacked the Japanese brand, highlighting the frustration of not being able to test Pirelli tires in the 2027-oriented tests and therefore no longer wanting to help the team “by trying a hundred things in one weekend“.
Meregalli’s Response
In an article published today on L’Equipe, the answers from the Yamaha leadership arrived, who wanted to respond sharply to Fabio Quartararo.
Team manager Massimo Meregalli explained: “For the tests in Austria we will use Razgatlioglu and most likely Guevara, who will be with us next year. But all manufacturers who have a departing rider have made this decision. Martin and Ogura will not test the Aprilia, Bagnaia will not test the Ducati, Acosta will not test the KTM and we will not let either Miller or Fabio test the bike. Quartararo should take example from Jack, who always gives his best and makes sure that, even if we are in difficulty, the good mood remains.”

Pavesio’s Response
Also Paolo Pavesio, executive director, wanted to give his opinion: “Fabio regularly complains that we do not develop the bike and when we let him test new parts, he reproaches us saying he gets lost. There is a lack of objectivity. We are not at the level we would like, that is clear, but we are trying to move forward.”
