The golden period of Racing Bulls and Liam Lawson
With the British Grand Prix behind them, Racing Bulls is preparing for the next appointment at Spa-Francorchamps with the awareness of living one of its best periods ever. Sixth in the Constructors’ standings and just one point behind Alpine, the Faenza-based team has finished four consecutive GPs with both its drivers in the top 10, and with Liam Lawson always ahead of his teammate Arvid Lindblad.

A positive season so far for the New Zealander, who has achieved five consecutive points finishes that have brought him to 10th place in the provisional standings. Performances that would therefore seem to leave no doubt about Lawson’s stay at Racing Bulls for 2027, if it were not for what is happening in Formula 2.
The Bulgarian threat
In the top feeder category of the Circus, in fact, the Bulgarian Nikola Tsolov is impressing greatly, having become the new championship leader right at Silverstone after three consecutive wins, equalling Davide Valsecchi’s record from 2012 (when the championship was known as GP2). Even Alan Permane, Racing Bulls’ team principal, has recently acknowledged the great work of the 24-year-old, considering closely following the Campos talent ahead of a possible promotion to F1 in 2027.

At the same time, the unfounded rumors that Tsolov has already been given the green light for a seat at Racing Bulls do not worry Lawson: “Honestly, I haven’t even thought about it – he explained to the media – obviously, the summer break is a period when things are carefully evaluated, and we still have a few races before then. So, at the moment, I’m focused only on continuing to do what we have done so far. Lately, it’s been working very well, and it would be nice to arrive at the summer break with another couple of good races, but I believe in Formula 1, even though I haven’t been here for very long, you know how things change, and it’s not something I have thought about.”
