The Audi Q4 e-tron is renewed and lands on the Italian market starting from 43,350 euros. We start this tour to discover the new electric SUV from the German brand with the price of the so-called Custom Edition, a sort of special edition designed exclusively for our country that represents the entry point to electric for the four-ring brand. Accessibility is indeed the watchword echoed among the desks of the German brand when addressing the topic of electric vehicles.
The Audi Q4 e-tron is renewed
And the Q4 e-tron paves the way towards a new process of democratizing this technology. From an aesthetic point of view, the new Q4 e-tron stands out for a muscular look, characterized by a renewed single frame, redesigned bumpers, sharp headlights, a new diffuser, and an OLED 2.0 light signature. A mix of elements that at first glance already gives the car a more sporty look.
From the exterior to the interior
There are also several novelties inside the cabin: we find the iconic digital stage combined with a new graphical interface, but also a redesigned console and a new phone box. Audi wanted to focus on ease and speed of interaction by designing this new cabin. Furthermore, in terms of habitability, the new electric SUV from Audi does not disappoint at all. A model that in many respects recalls other models from the brand: it is a Q4, but effectively has the dimensions of a Q3, the habitability of a Q5, and the trunk of a Q6. Technologically speaking, there is a 12.8″ central infotainment display, flanked by an 11.9″ digital instrument cluster and a 12″ screen for the passenger.

Typically Audi driving dynamics
The driving dynamics also evolve. Built on the MEB platform, the new Q4 e-tron performs well on the road thanks especially to the more direct progressive steering and three suspension variants, for a feeling and driving pleasure enhanced to the maximum. The electric powertrain does not disappoint: we find a new rear PSM motor, more effective power electronics, refined software, and reduced friction transmission. Audi estimates a 10% higher efficiency compared to the previous model.

Three power levels available
Speaking of powertrain, the range consists of three versions. It starts with the Q4 e-tron with 204 hp and 350 Nm (thus 40 Nm more than before), specifications that guarantee a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 8.1 seconds. Then it rises to the Q4 e-tron performance with 286 hp and 545 Nm, reducing the 0-100 sprint time to 6.6 seconds. Finally, there is the Q4 e-tron quattro performance, delivering 340 hp and 545 Nm for an acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. Depending on the engine, Audi offers rear-wheel drive or electric quattro all-wheel drive.

Two battery capacities
Powering the powertrain is a lithium-ion NMC battery offered in two capacities: 63 or 82 kWh. In both cases, the German brand boasts thermal stability in all conditions, thanks to the automatic and manual pre-conditioning system of the battery. Chapter range: the e-tron reaches up to 450 km of range (29 more than before), the quattro up to 592 km (+30 km), and the quattro performance up to 554 km (+16 km). On average, we are talking about 7% higher ranges.

Charging and benefits
Regarding charging, the new Q4 e-tron reaches up to 185 kW of maximum DC power, an increase of 10 kW compared to before. Therefore, it is possible to charge 185 kilometers in 10 minutes, and go from 10 to 80% battery in less than 28 minutes. Staying on charging, thanks to competitive rates guaranteed by the Audi Charging program, the four-ring brand estimates 30% economic benefits compared to diesel via IONITY and 3% via HPC.

The Audi Charging program
We recall that the Audi Charging program extends to 29 European countries, with over 1.1 million charging points, and covers 85% of the Italian network through three different tariff plans. The reference prices? 0.50 euros per kWh with IONITY, 0.64 with HPC. One last mention about charging: V2L is immediately available and very soon V2H will also be available; the German brand has already guaranteed that V2G will follow.

How it performs on the road and prices
On the roads of Champoluc and surroundings, the new Q4 e-tron demonstrated great responsiveness and efficiency. The motor response is ready, a bit less so the brake: in Brake mode the car helps a lot to lose speed, but if driving in standard mode the braking must be pressed heavily and is rather long. Translated: those who push the car to the limit need to pay extra attention. The driving modes are perfectly complementary, and the driving aids are not invasive at all, an element far from obvious. We mentioned prices: the Q4 e-tron starts from 43,350 euros, which become 52,900 euros if you choose the Sportback variant.
