Jaguar will unveil the name of its electric grand tourer on May 12. This was announced by Autocar India. Until now, the car was identified as Type 00, a name linked to the concept car presented in December 2024, and also associated with the code name X900. But with the arrival of the production version, the British company will most likely adopt a different name, marking an important transition from prototype to market-bound model.

Jaguar Type 00 changes name
The arrival of the electric GT will represent a real turning point for the British brand, both in terms of design approach and engineering. In particular, it remains to be seen whether the car will inherit a reference to a historic brand name, as was the case in the past with the relationship between F-Type and E-Type, or if Jaguar will decide to introduce a new commercial identity. Autocar India also adds that the final car will be presented in September, while the first deliveries to customers are expected at the beginning of next year.
Debut in September, deliveries in 2027
On the technical side, the low-profile electric GT is based on the new platform Jaguar Electric Architecture, developed specifically for the brand’s new generation of electric vehicles. Among the most significant data, it promises unprecedented structural rigidity for the British brand, with a torsional stiffness of 50,000 Nm/degree, and also advanced aerodynamics thanks to a drag coefficient below 0.25. The powertrain features three motors, one front and two rear, for over 1,000 hp, powered by a battery of about 120 kWh. On the suspension front, there will be double-chamber air springs and adaptive dampers on each wheel, with 23″ wheels as standard (but optionally available in 21″).
