For Hyundai, hydrogen is not just a marginal alternative. The debut in Italy of the new NEXO, the electric SUV that centers on third-generation fuel cell technology, is proof of this. A leap forward in hydrogen mobility based on high range, fast refueling, and performance designed for everyday use. The model declares up to 826 km of range in the WLTP cycle and the possibility to refuel in about five minutes, thus combining the advantages of “electric” driving with the practicality typical of station stops.

Moreover, like every fuel cell vehicle, NEXO guarantees zero emissions at the tailpipe, helping to make the transition to carbon neutrality more concrete. The technological context is that of a brand that has been working on hydrogen for almost 30 years. Hyundai started with the first prototypes, became in 2013 the first company to commercialize a mass-produced FCEV, and today, with NEXO, consolidates a global reference role not only in the automotive sector but also in the broader energy ecosystem.

The new fuel cell architecture has been designed to increase efficiency and reliability. In this sense, the key idea is to definitively overcome the “range anxiety,” while offering an experience consistent with the expectations of modern mobility. The arrival of the NEXO in our country comes at a time of strong infrastructural and industrial evolution: in Lombardy, in fact, new refueling infrastructures are being developed along strategic routes, helping to create a favorable operational context for fuel cell mobility in the Northeast.
