F1 Miami, the GP report

The rain that was supposed to hit Miami does not appear: instead, even in Florida, the Kimi Antonelli cyclone strikes. A stunning display of strength from the 2006-born driver, who withstands the pressure from Lando Norris and secures his third consecutive victory after those in Shanghai and Suzuka, increasing the gap to 20 points over George Russell, today fourth but in a completely fortunate way. The Italian, who started better than in previous occasions, is targeted at the start by Max Verstappen: to defend himself from the Dutchman, he goes very wide and allows Charles Leclerc to overtake. However, his Mercedes allows him to impose his pace on the race, overtaking first the Ferrari driver and then, during the pit stop shuffle, Norris. Once he also passed Max Verstappen (who however has much older hard tires) on the 29th lap, Antonelli is very good at holding off the world champion, who never has a real chance to overtake.

Third place for Oscar Piastri, who takes advantage of Charles Leclerc’s problems at the end: the Monegasque loses the podium and drops to sixth place in the last lap and a half, undoubtedly a blow considering his performances throughout the weekend.
