First podium in 2026 for the Dutchman
Max Verstappen and Red Bull in Canada secured the first podium of 2026, although the four-time world champion is well aware that several rivals self-eliminated or were knocked out by bad luck during the Canadian GP.

“I’m smiling because it’s a nice podium, I had a good battle with Hamilton and I’m happy for Antonelli’s victory”, said the Dutchman to Sky.
“We had a bit of luck with the mess McLaren made and with the problem that stopped Russell – Verstappen added – but we were ready to take advantage of the opportunity that came up and I’m happy for the team about this podium.”
