The words of the Ferrari drivers
Everything is ready at Imola for the 6-hour race that will kick off the 2026 WEC championship. Ferrari will try to defend the titles won in 2025, although the competition is fierce starting with Toyota, which will be on track with a new Hypercar. In the Prologue, the 499P made a hat-trick, below are the statements of the 6 drivers divided between the #50 and #51 crews.

Antonio Fuoco: “The indications we obtained during the Prologue are positive, so we start again from this fact approaching the weekend of the 6 Hours of Imola, a race that for Ferrari and for all of us undoubtedly represents a special appointment. This year, moreover, the FIA WEC restarts from this racetrack, where with the 499P we have always had excellent feedback. The race will be challenging, as will the season, because being reigning world champions gives us no advantage, but our hope is to be protagonists of a great performance in front of our Fans.”
Miguel Molina: “We are ready to start the new season in a special setting like Imola. We hope to debut in the best possible way after completing a good job during Tuesday’s Prologue, in which we collected a lot of data to analyze before Free Practice 1. There is confidence in the team, after the excellent last season concluded with the world titles, but at the same time there is also the awareness that we all start from zero and that the level of the opponents is very high.”
Nicklas Nielsen: “Imola is a track I like and on which our 499P has always proven to be competitive, and racing in front of the Italian public is a special emotion for Ferrari drivers. For these reasons, the hope is to be able to compete in a good 6 Hours, after completing an undoubtedly positive Prologue, in which we were able to complete the program we had set ourselves.”

Alessandro Pier Guidi: “During the Prologue we encountered changing weather conditions, a positive fact because it allowed us to also test wet tires. As usual, the first day of testing should not be evaluated only in light of times and rankings, because each team carries out different work and it is therefore impossible to fully compare performances, but we are certainly happy with the work we have done with our 499P. We look forward to returning to the track at Imola, in front of the Italian public, always trying to give our best to offer the Fans a memorable weekend.”
James Calado: “The Prologue went quite well: we were able to face variable weather conditions and complete many laps to evaluate the car’s behavior ahead of Friday’s FP1. On our part, there is still some work to do to improve the setup of the 499P, but everything we had to do during the Prologue was successfully completed.”
Antonio Giovinazzi: “After Tuesday’s Prologue, during which we ran without problems and in very different conditions, with dry, wet and damp track, thus collecting a lot of data to analyze ahead of the weekend: I can’t wait to get back in the 499P cockpit. Starting again from the Italian race, on a historic and special track for Ferrari like the Imola Circuit, gives us an extra boost to do our best. We know the competition is significant and that the 6 Hours will not be an easy race at all, but we face it with maximum determination and confidence.”
