Filosa and the relaunch of Stellantis
“Sales results across North America show how our strategy is working. Our goal is to regain market share by offering the products our customers want and appreciate,” Filosa told employees. Also on electric, the company is considering a turnaround: “75% of the extraordinary costs are linked to strategic assumptions that have proven wrong, based on excessive optimism regarding electric adoption in the EU and especially in the USA. We must put customer needs at the center”. Translated: electrification will not stop, but market by market and without impositions that risk penalizing competitiveness and margins.
Electrification and the Chinese offensive
On the Chinese offensive, Filosa sees great opportunities for the future: the CEO of Stellantis indeed considers alliances an integral part of the future strategy. And he clarified that Chinese manufacturers are coming very strongly into Europe. The group intends to use collaborations in this sense to increase the saturation of the most struggling European plants and reduce production overcapacity. The talks, the newspaper reports, concern several plants, including Cassino, Rennes, and Madrid. “Working with a series of partners to build a roadmap for technological improvement, supply chain, and perhaps capacity utilization can create mutual benefits,” Filosa concluded.
