Ford, five new rally-inspired models for Europe

Ford aims to regain customers in Europe with an ambitious relaunch plan. Five new cars will arrive by 2029, positioned mainly in the B and C segments. The strategy is openly inspired by the legacy of competitions, particularly the world of rally, with the aim of being perceived again as a brand capable not only of “participating”, but of offering distinctive products for style, driving, and versatility. Among the new arrivals are a “multi-energy” SUV inspired by the Bronco family philosophy, a small electric hatchback that could bring back the Fiesta name, and a crossover developed on a Renault platform, complemented by two additional multi-energy crossovers.

However, the expansion is not limited to the everyday car segment. Ford has indeed confirmed the arrival of a new “extreme” pick-up, the Ranger Super Duty, intended to complement the recently unveiled Transit City van. In this way, the expansion of the commercial range integrates with the push for more private-oriented products, according to an overall plan that aims to strengthen the brand’s presence in multiple market segments. Jim Baumbick, the company’s European head, clearly emphasized the Blue Oval’s intention: “We don’t just want to compete, we’re here to play and win.”

The new vehicles will be part of a broader framework called “Ready Set Ford,” designed by the company to focus on the strengths where Ford believes it can truly differentiate itself from the competition. At its core are competencies in off-road and high performance, translated into a more “race-like” identity for look, setup, and handling, with a stylistic and driving imprint inspired by rally. The renewed European range will be led by a compact SUV which, as anticipated by Autocar, will be part of the global Bronco family: it will be produced from 2028 at the Valencia plant, alongside the current Kuga, with possible sharing of the K2 platform.
